Can Indonesia - the world’s biggest producer of palm oil - reach zero deforestation? Using unique supply chain mapping techniques, Trase looked at exports from 2018 to 2020 and found that palm oil deforestation had fallen. But Timer Manurung of Indonesian NGO Auriga warns that new mills could put pressure on forests, reversing the success of recent years.
